Last weekend I went camping with my Getaway Gals Club. "Glamping" is a relatively new term that means glamorous camping. Women all over the world have embraced camping, but with a twist....the twist being to glam up their camping abode, whether that be tent or trailer. My friends and I had a wonderful time on the beautiful Guadalupe River in New Braunsfels, TX. Because this trend is so popular, our host, Pam Sinclair, had reporters from both the local paper and the San Antonio paper out to take pictures and interview us for articles. The local paper published the article right away and advertised our charity tour and we had a huge turn out! Over 200 people toured our 40+ trailers and in the process we raised $600 for the Wounded Warriors. One of our sisters published a photo tour on her blog: travelinglongdogs.blogspot.com (Visit mysa.com in about a week to view the article in the San Antonio paper.)
Keeping a journal somehow makes us want to live a life worth writing about. I pride myself on striving to live each day to its fullest, sucking the marrow from every moment. I believe we are human beings, not human doings, so I am not defined by a job, title or project. My word of the year for 2011 was "JOY," and I tried to seek joy in every day and every adventure that crossed my path. I had a pretty amazing year, so this year my word is "HERE," after all, all we really have is NOW.
