Library Mantle is done!!

I promised Moly I would put this picture up of my mantle in the library (my favorite room in the house!) I have the decorations down from the attic but my tree and other decorations are not up yet. (Note to Moly: my silver tree is up waiting to be decorated, too! Get yours out!!) I am off to Hobby Lobby again today to try and snag more little paper mache houses, I hope to decorate some with scrapbook supplies and glitter to go with my newest Putz house I snagged at TJMaxx for only $9.99 (& it has a LED light in it!!)

Happy Decorating!!

Is it that time again????

Wow! This year has flown by! But then I knew it would when I retired from work and took on the HUGE responsibility of becoming the Ambassador of Fun!

The above cartoon says it all! Just as soon as you put out your Jack-O-Lanturn it is time to set out the Cornacopia & then, POOF, here comes the Christmas tree! Maybe they have the right idea, just put them all out there at once & then sit back and actually ENJOY the holidays~!!

Gotta run....as Ambassador of Fun, part of my daily responsibilities is to spend quality time on Pinterest so I can discover new ways to play!

New Obsession! Vintage Travel Trailers

Who knew that when I "rescued" Raylyn over Labor Day weekend & took her camping that it would roller coaster into our latest obsession! Since I discovered the Lake Lewisville campground was only 8 miles from home, that made it super easy for Adrian to pull my camper & set us up & then go back home, now all of my friends want to "escape" and go "glamping. (Camping gone Glam.)

I do not have a vintage trailer (mine is a 1995 model that A bought me for Christmas 16 years ago.) Terry fell in love with a vintage trailer about a year ago when she discovered it online, so when we 3 went camping 2 weeks ago for Terry's b-day in my trailer we spent the weekend googling trailers. We found an adorable one named "Betty Jean" in Dallas, so Sherry went & looked at it....image our surprise when a few days later Sherry called & told us she BOUGHT IT! So you can see us in this picture with Betty Jean....now we get to "glam it up" plus continue our search for Terry's trailer.

I warn anyone reading this, beware....if you start looking into these vintage babies, you WILL want one for yourself! If you want to see a ton of cute pix, go to my pin board on Pinterest named "My Life as a Gypsy" .

Mother's Day Surprise!

Brett Jenson Galitz decided to surprise everyone and come a month early on Mother's Day! Even though he was only 36 weeks he still weighted 6/13 and was 20" - so he was a good sized newborn. Jennifer and Brett are both healthy and are being released from the hospital this afternoon!

Jenna and the kids

Here are a couple of pictures I took yesterday at my daughter's house of her pregnant belly with the kids. Presley and Brady look so cute! It will only be about 5 more weeks until Baby Brett makes his debut!

Grandkids are God's gift for old age!

Happy Easter!

I just wanted to wish the "web world" a blessed Easter. My little angels were adorable this morning in their Easter finery at church. I am on my baby pc, so none of my pix are here, but I will get around to uploading some pictures later on.

I have had so much fun since I retired! I have been reading a lot lately in my spare time (rather than getting on my pc) and just finished re-reading one of my favorite books: The Year of Pleasures by Elizabeth Berg. If you have never read Elizabeth, I strongly recommend you do. She is a beautiful writer.

Just before this I read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. (I am going to read the entire trilogy, but am sharing books with my girlfriends and am waiting on #2 now.) It was very good and intriguing and I plan to watch the foreign film (using my Netflix Instant Movie Magic!)

This coming week should be fun....Tuesday is our Neighborhood Ladies monthly lunch date and we hope to sit outside at the Corner Bakery in Highland Village and pretend we are actually somewhere exotic as we solve the problems of Bartonville, TX. I get to have my grandchildren on Saturday for a sleep over and then Sunday is our annual "Purple Sisters" Mother's Day Tea! Lots to look forward to! Hope your week is wonderful, too!

Packing my Bags.....

Scrap bags, that is....this weekend I am going on a 4 day girl's retreat near Canton with some of my best friends. Truth is, this is a substitute trip for Paris! How can a trip to Canton possibly be a substitute for Paris, you ask....well, last spring a group of us girls decided to start saving our pennies for a trip to Paris this May. And, we all know how life has a way of steering us in directions other than our plans and sure enough, "life" removed Paris as a destination for THIS spring (we are not giving up this idea..it is just too delicious to discard forever!) So, we decided to go closer to home and take a retreat to a lake house that is designed with scrappers in mind. We also chose this weekend so we could go to First Monday Trade Days in Canton, too...so we can "junk" and "scrap" (talk about a heavenly weekend!!)

I haven't posted in a while because I have been SCRAPPIN!!! I have already completed my 2 volumes that make up 1995 and made tremendous progress in my 2006 album. I am also in the process of getting all of my digital pix printed and organized.

We also decided to get into "Square Foot Gardening" and that has taken quite a bit of time, too. I will post pix later.

I am loving retirement....getting to run and play with Jenna at the drop of a hat and having Presley and Brady over more often has been a dream. Plus I have read "The Help" (excellent book) and "The Devil in the Junior League" (cute, but nowhere near the level of "The Help") and have started "The Friday Night Knitting Club."

Sun is up, so gotta fly!
